SPITFIRE NG roadmap
Accepted and published
- D1 — Deployment, update, backup and runtime rollback: safe maintenance and recovery foundations.
- D2 — Caller login, new users and sessions: complete caller admission with safe concurrent sessions and time accounting.
- D3 — Menus, conferences, message reading and posting: complete core message journeys, including linked replies and new-message scans.
Current source: schema 37. Networking remains CIRCUITNET-NG 1.4, with CircuitNET C1–C9 accepted and applications closed.
Next: D4
The next planned work is Files caller UX and transfers. Existing file storage and transfer components remain useful foundations; D4 has not been completed by this website pass.
Direction after D4
The current planning direction is:
| Stage | Planned focus |
|---|---|
| D5 | Sysop configuration and operations |
| D6 | Multi-node real-world hardening |
| D7 | Doors runtime |
| D8 | Packaging, installation and service management |
| D9 | Classic SPITFIRE migration |
| D10 | Public preview acceptance |
These are planning descriptions, not completed capabilities or release dates. The published roadmap confirms D3 and D4 as the next authorization boundary; it does not yet enumerate the D5–D10 labels. D5–D10 above are planning descriptions, pending their own canonical milestone definitions.
Keep release expectations clear
The old 0.1.0 Development Preview download remains separate from current source. Apple Silicon real runtime acceptance and Intel macOS compilation do not establish broad platform runtime acceptance. Current source versus download explains what to evaluate today.
